Take your time, and read that again.  It’s what we in the training industry call a ‘key point.’  So much of human interaction is organized around the seeming need to be right.  It’s counterproductive and ineffective.  Persuasion finds success in meeting people where they are, first understanding and then speaking to their needs, interests and motivations.
